Take the Train With Tony Price

I need to start listening to more jazz. Specifically, I need to listen to more Tony Price, whose latest track is particularly superb.

On the release page for Price’s upcoming LP, “Interview” is described as “a meditative exploration of the tile-tunnelled labyrinths of NYC’s subway system at
night.” It must be a Saturday night because the subway is abuzz and full of passengers. A drum groove and bass-line repeat through much of the track’s 20 minute length, acting like the train rattling down the line. Intermittently various horns, woodwinds, guitars, and keys pass in and out of earshot, much like fellow train-goers boarding and departing at their respective stops. Throughout its run-time “Interview” never gets stale, thanks to these many characters that come together beautifully to create a vivid and vibrant ride on the track.

You can board the train at the station below and purchase the Interview / Discount LP here.
