I forget where and how I came across this new one from New Fries. It is another question to add to the list of questions I have when listening to this song. “Ploce” is a bare-boned and unsteady track, driven by a lurching bassline, stiff drums with rickety fills, and spidery guitar blurts interlaced between Anni Spadafora‘s declarations of mind things, mattresses, and poison. The disorienting nature is magnified when watching the music video, an animation by Amy Logheart that I can only describe as children’s drawings from the shadow realm come to life in a two-minute nightmare.
