This debut single from workfriends, “Man On The Run”, is so much fun to listen to, and from what I can tell, it sounds like a band that had a lot of fun making it.
From the beginning, you’re hit by this undeniably hip-shaking beat before that INSANELY CATCHY lead riff arrives. It’s been stuck in my head all day. And then the lead singer comes in with these zany over-the-top expressive vocal inflections and as if that’s not enough, they bring in the cowbell! How can you say no to the cowbell? I can’t. Not this time.
Web-based info on the band is sparse, haven’t found much except a Facebook page, but I’ll be doing my best to keep tabs on this group. Especially if they keep making more madcap rippers like this.
